The Situation

A tenant living in a rural part of Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) was experiencing very high fuel bills due to having a LPG heating and hot water system. The tenant asked EFDC for advice and available options to enable them to reduce their costs; EFDC turned to the technical skills and expertise of Gracelands CMS Ltd.

The Solution

Gracelands' Engineers met with the tenant and set up meetings with an Energy Advisor to determine the best available energy options for the tenant's property and location. An electric heating and hot water system was decided and Gracelands Engineers proceeded to prepare costings and drawings for the agreed works to be undertaken. Our highly skilled and experienced Installers/Electricians carried out the system installation which included an Economy 18 electric meter, a meter which can be programmed to run on cheaper tariff settings.

The Benefits

To maximise savings opportunities from using the Economy 18 electric meter the tenant began to use their domestic appliances when cheaper electricity tariffs were available e.g. running the washing machine and dish washer over night.

The Result: a win/win for everyone!

The tenant continues to save substantial amounts on their fuel bill, which is a much welcomed situation for them given the tough economic climate.
